MATON : A Guitar Soundtrack w/ Stereogamous

- Nick Wales joined dear friends and collaborators Stereogamous (Jonny Seymour and Paul Mac), together creating a soundtrack album using Maton guitars as their sound palette.

MATON is a re-imagining of the guitar as a sonic ambient journey played on Maton guitars. Fused with Ambient, Spanish, Classical, Hawaiian, Country, Jazz, Not Noisy Rock and Folk influences, MATON was commissioned by the Powerhouse Museum for its 2020 exhibition Maton: Australia’s Guitar

The MATON soundtrack is as much an exploration of the guitar as it is an exploration for Nick and Stereogamous. Nick’s vast experience with string and electronics and Stereogamous’ love of synthesizers, both parties had never before fully creatively explored the musicality of guitars in such depth.
