CATHEDRAL

Cathedral is a site specific headphone-based audio experience for String Orchestra, Piano and Bird Song

Exploring the immediacy of place - a moment to consider one's own inner weather.

Responding to and created in residence at Bundanon, Cathedral invites the listener on a journey through the majesty of the natural environment.  Alternating between irreverent humour and moments of reflection, this immersive experience is influenced by the sounds of nature and the cathedral-like vistas of eucalypts alongside majestic river landscapes. Wales’ work celebrates Bundanon as a meeting place and a pilgrimage site for artists where they can reflect and create new work, furthering the legacy of Arthur and Yvonne Boyd.

Composed and devised by Nick Wales in collaboration with

Matthew Bergan (author and voice text),

Véronique Serret (violin) and

Bob Scott (sound mix)
